FAQ
Find answers to common questions about pre-owned yachts, yacht ownership support, refit projects and the Yacht House way of working.
1. What should I consider when buying a pre-owned yacht?
Buying a pre-owned yacht involves far more than comparing specifications or appearance. Technical condition, maintenance history, provenance, ownership background and long-term operating requirements all play an important role.
At Yacht House, we help clients assess not only the yacht itself, but the ownership experience that comes with it. Our role is to provide clarity, honest guidance and technical insight, so decisions are based on confidence rather than uncertainty.
2. How does Yacht House assess the condition of a pre-owned yacht?
Every yacht is evaluated with a strong focus on technical condition, presentation, history and ownership potential.
Depending on the yacht and project, this may include detailed inspections, technical review, documentation checks and a full condition assessment. For selected Vanquish yachts, this can form part of a more extensive inspection and preparation protocol.
Our objective is simple: to provide transparency and ensure every yacht is properly understood before acquisition or further investment.
3. What is the difference between a yacht refit and a full rebuild?
A refit focuses on improving and refreshing an existing yacht without fully rebuilding its structure. This may involve technical upgrades, cosmetic refinements, upholstery renewal, paintwork improvements or comfort enhancements.
A rebuild goes significantly further. The yacht is stripped back, technically overhauled and rebuilt to a much higher standard, often resulting in a yacht that feels virtually new.
The right route depends on the yacht, your objectives and your ownership plans.
4. Do you provide yacht management after purchase?
Yes, Yacht House supports owners well beyond the point of purchase. Our yacht management and ownership support services are designed to make ownership organised, straightforward and enjoyable.
This may include technical maintenance coordination, preventive inspections, cleaning, seasonal preparation, operational support and day-to-day oversight, all managed through one dedicated point of contact.
5. Do I need to own a yacht purchased through Yacht House to use your services?
Not necessarily. Depending on the type of support required, Yacht House can also assist owners who are looking for professional ownership management, technical guidance or practical support for an existing yacht.
The most suitable service approach depends on the yacht, location and specific ownership requirements.
6. What makes Yacht House different from a traditional yacht broker?
A traditional broker typically focuses on the transaction. Yacht House focuses on the complete ownership journey.
That means acquisition guidance, technical understanding, refit expertise, yacht management, ownership support and practical aftercare. We believe ownership should feel effortless, not administratively demanding.
For many clients, that long-term involvement creates a very different ownership experience.
7. Can Yacht House support yacht ownership in the South of France?
Yes, Yacht House actively supports owners in the South of France with dedicated ownership services and operational coordination.
This may include maintenance planning, cleaning, technical support, yacht preparation, charter coordination and practical ownership assistance.
Our aim is to ensure your yacht remains professionally managed, properly maintained and ready whenever you are.
